| Member Update | Why do I have to send an email and be put on a list for special updates? Advertopia is a no profit program. That is not a type-o. I don't want to be confused with a non-profit that actually makes money to pay for things like staff and other needed items. We make no money at all. Everything we use is completely donated to us. Advertopia has over 38,000 members and because people get updates from me from time to time they assume that I do email blasts and can notify all members the minute something happens--this is not true. When you get an email from me it is done manually going oldest members first, then most productive members and so on down the list. Some members never get updates because it takes me days to send out an update. Why? I can send out about 100-150 an hour and I don't sit at my computer 24 hours a day waiting to send the next batch because I have a life, and that is why it is important to log into your back office because here you can usually find info on a planned program to be added. The hosting for Advertopia is completely donated and has been since the launch. We produce a huge web hosting bill every month!
I used to use the blaster through our server to send out to all of the database, but due to some members not following the rules and not keeping their email address up-to-date or Internet hippies who put spam contact email addresses as their email addresses, we have been shut down countless times. That means I have to go and plead and beg for our webmaster to take time out of his busy schedule to get us back online and find another host for us after they just paid a stiff fine for a company they donate services to with no reward of any kind. After 2 years of this happening 2 times a month on average I agreed not to use the server for mailing anymore so they would agree to not drop us as a cause. Since we are a no profit company they don't even get to claim us on their taxes for the money they spend every month for doing this for us. They get absolutely no reward at all in return for helping us. They do it for me solely out of respect for my years of service in helping others and in return for favors I have personally done for them over the years and for no other reason. Please don't ever forget what Advertopia was created for. Advertopia was created by (Me) Jennie Menn with the help of some close friends who are not nor never have been marketers for the sole purpose of helping others replicate my success online. I don't need it nor have I ever needed it.. It automates the things I do every day in order to advertise any business I promote. By putting it together in a system it allows other people with no experience to replicate my success online. When I say automate I don't mean it does everything for you. There is no way to get rich by doing nothing in this world, but if you use this system you can create a powerful free marketing system that will make anyone successful. There is nothing more powerful than free advertising because the more you advertise the more money you make the larger your list gets, and the more successful you become. Unlike paid advertising you are not limited by how much money you have but rather how much time you have to earn free advertising. You don't have to join everything in Advertopia to be successful, but my recommendation is that you join all the free programs by spending a little bit of time every day until you have completed the task. It is never necessary to join any paid program, but please note that if your downline does you will not make any money from them. My advice is that you take a little bit of money from your profits every month and join the paid advertising programs because they will pay for themselves over time and it is just another stream of income for you. For those of you who have never heard of me before, and wonder if I might just be another one of those self-proclaimed experts, I offer a little bit of background information on me here. I have been marketing online for 9 years. I am completely self-taught and the reason for this is that very early on I discovered that most of the books and websites, in fact, all that I came across, were a complete and utter waste of time. You could easily spend a lifetime using the techniques taught in these and never earn a dime or learn a single thing. Within 6 months of starting out online I was earning over $5,000 a month from a single program. I did this using the strategies that are set forth here in Advertopia. Since that time I have become a highly paid Internet consultant that is paid top dollar by companies to get more traffic to their website. What is top dollar? My last major job paid me over $120,000 for 18 hours of work. Now mind you I am only paid on my success, no one in their right mind would pay anyone that rate if it was not guaranteed. Simply put my price for service is always a small percentage of the profits that I increase for them. So what does that all mean? It means I put my money where my mouth is and I don't just make a bunch of promises I can't deliver on. It also means I know how to get a product sold. I started Advertopia because even though there are many people online who do nothing while claiming to be working constantly and never make a dime, there are hard working people who actually work hard and want to get out of a dead end job or an abusive relationship and they are just looking for a real way to do it. It does not matter who you are. If you just follow the steps in Advertopia you can make full-time money with part time effort. Never focus any energy on what is not working only focus on what is working. Let me make that a little clearer for you: Many people fail because they focus their attention on what is going wrong. Here is an example: A person uses Advertopia and builds a downline of 20 people. For every person that works under them they earn a percentage of that work. In a paid program that would look like making $5 or $10 dollars off of everyone under them. But in Advertising you can make money too. Let's say that you earn 1 visit for every 2 websites that you look at in a free program. That means if you look at 100 websites in a day your site will be seen 50 times in a day. You can actually do that in only 5 minutes a day by using a browser like AM browser and open 10 at a time. It might seem like if everyone is doing that no one will look at your site, but if that were true would I be telling you to do it? Wouldn't that hurt my business as well? The truth is if you use a billboard page (something I developed years ago that is basically just like a billboard that you might see when you are driving. You can do this trust me. Just use Fiend Cat Referrals or join something I am doing and copy mine until you get the hang of it. You know the old expression if you want to be successful find someone who is and copy exactly what they are doing) to advertise a person only needs to catch a glimpse of that page in order for your advertising to be successful. You can read more on that under set-up instructions above. Now if you open 10 pages at a time then you could spend only 5 minutes a day to have your page seen 50 times across 10 different programs. What would it cost you to buy that advertising? It would cost between $5-$10. So, what does that mean? It means you just got paid $5-$10 for 5 minutes work and you spent it on advertising. Advertising accounts for 75-80% of all revenue of any business, so the more you advertise the more you can earn. If a company grosses $100,000 a year that means they Netted between $20,000 and $25,000 dollars. Net is the profit. Gross is how much they were paid. Gross - spending = profit. Advertising can be paid out not only as typical money paid for advertising, but also as salaries to sales staff. The money paid to a salesperson in your company is advertising dollars. Let me break this down a little further. You want to make $25,000 a year for yourself so that means you need to spend about $75,000 on advertising or sales staff but what if you don’t have that kind of money and if you did would it be smart for you to risk it? The great thing about free advertising is you never risk any of your actual money but rather your time. And don’t think you can ever spend say $1,000 of the $75,000 in order to see if you are going to make a profit it simply does not work that way. If you make $20,000 a year most of that money is going to come in towards the end of that year so keep that in mind when setting your goals. You can’t take a peek into your success by simply doing a little bit of work or spending a little bit of money. If you are not ready to get your head wet then there is no point in sticking a toe in to test the water. People don’t work for themselves because it is easier working for someone else. They do it because the rewards are greater and one day they can be the one earning off the labors of others rather than being the one who is doing the labor. So now how much work are we talking about here? Well, if you are going to be doing all the work to advertise your business that will earn you $25,000 a year then that means you need to spend 250-500 hours a year working on the advertising portion of your business. With 52 weeks in a year and 5 work days in a week as I said earlier, you could make $5-$10 every 5 minutes that you surf for advertising, and that means you can earn $60-$120 an hour in advertising money. You will need to spend 2-4 hours a day working 5 days a week. Also, remember that you won’t start making a large percentage of that money until at least halfway through the year and you are not likely to make much at all the first month or 2 which is where most people give up. My first month I did not make a dime, my second month I made $50 but I was spending $35 a month for the program I was in. My third month I made $148 and at that time every single person I knew who was doing what I was doing had quit. They all said I am working my butt off and not making a dime, but I did not give up. At the time there were 9.2 million millionaires in the world and 20% of the millionaires that year came from the Internet and I was just not willing to admit that there were that many people who were smarter or at least more dedicated than I was. The next month I made $500, then $1500 the next and by the 6th month I was earning $5,000 a month from my main company and was the highest paid affiliate by far in the company. No one else held my rank, the rank below me, or below that, and there was only one in the rank below that. I know that most people are looking to make more money than that and make it much faster. When I was working those first few months I was working 14-16 hour days because I had to and I was doing it by myself with NO experience. However, I have learned a few things and that is what Advertopia is all about, helping you do the same thing with a lot less effort. So, it is obvious that if I worked double the amount of time I could earn double the money, right? But is that the only way? To be truly successful any wealthy person will tell you that you have to take yourself out of the picture. That is the difference between working for yourself and working for someone else. When you have a job you can never take yourself out of the picture. If you don’t work you don’t get paid. The reason people choose to work for themselves is because they can take themselves out of the picture and that should be your ultimate goal. At first I worked 14-16 hours a day, most of it on advertising, but after six months I spent little, if any time at all, on advertising yet I still got over 50,000 hits a day to my website and that was all the advertising I needed to build anything...and the rest they say is history! Let me tell you how I did it. Rather than advertise my business I advertised free advertising programs. You see, everyone out there has something to sell and none are looking to buy. But, if your product is advertising then they need it to sell their product and Bamm, now they are on your list. It is free so they never ponder whether or not they should join. Nothing will build your list faster than free advertising. Take everything you know about social networking and what it can do for your business and multiply that by1,000 and that is what a good free advertising company can do for your business. It is the ultimate in social networking going straight to the heart of the job. With social networking you are trying to establish relationships with people in hopes of introducing them to your product or service so with free advertising you make your sale before they even know your name. Now they know your name…you are their upline. Now, I know I said sale and you are thinking but it is free…where is my money. Well remember the $5-$10 for 5 minutes work? Well, guess what? You always earn a percentage of the work from all of the people that you sponsor and that they sponsor down the line. Now, if you have sponsored 10 active people and you earn 10%, a typical amount, then you just doubled your efforts. You are now making double the money from your product by doubling your advertising with the same amount of effort on your part. Stop for a second and think about all the ways that can snowball your income. What happens when you get 10 more? What happens when one of yours gets 10? What happens when one of theirs gets 10? Even though in the last 2 examples you did nothing your income still went up. That is how you get taken out of the picture. Everything in life has a “critical mass”. That is the point at which it continues doing what it is doing without further input. In this case, without further work from you, YOU are now the boss. You now have your own company. It no longer matters if the program you are earning 6 figures with goes belly up because all you have to do is log into the back office of all your advertising websites and change the URL to whatever new program you are advertising and instantly you have 50,000 hits a day going to your new program and it will start building in the same way that your last one did. Here is another important note to remember: Many people will try and build a new list with every program they join. If they are in a program that goes belly up they will never go to their downline in that list and tell them about the new program they are in because they think they won’t join because the last one failed. Well, here is where honesty comes in, provided you did not lie to them to get them to join, and provided that you only told them things that you were told and believed, then they will follow you. What else are they going to do? With the exception of a very small group of people who never take responsibility for their own lives, they are going to know that you had nothing to do with the fact that the company went belly up. How could you? Yes, you might get an email from someone calling you every name in the book blaming you for everything, but does that make it true? If you are going to get anywhere in business you have to develop tougher skin. In any business there is a lot of mudslinging and name calling. When you get to my point in life you will even have people making websites about you to slander you. It is usually by your competition or someone from a company you said something about that they did not like. Oftentimes, these cowards will pretend to be individuals writing about their own experience just to make you look bad. So what, as I used to tell my pale, underweight son after being bullied on the playground. If they called you a 300 pound black woman, would that upset you? No, because it is not true and neither is what they said. Let me share a story with you that happened to me recently. It is very personal but it makes a very good point. I was recently reunited with my first and only love from 26 years ago. We broke up because my family was against it and we were from different countries and I was very young. He never forgot me and never stopped looking for me. When we got back together many people from his family had a hard time believing that such a thing could happen--that 2 people could still love each other after 26 years and so they started to question my motives. One of the things that they asked was, "What does she do for a living?" Was money my motive? Like everyone in my life for the last 9 years he could not find the words to describe what I do for a living. I still have never been able to explain it any better than to say I am an entrepreneur, but with the language barrier that was not going to work. So he told them to Google my name and read all the websites that come up. There are a lot of them. At first when he told me he did it I was terrified as this would reveal all the good and bad that everyone has ever said about me. What if they believe the stuff that is not true? Well, one thing is if they do, that is their problem. It does not make it any truer because they chose to believe it Second, this kind of thing happens all the time with my clients--they do check me out before they hire me and I still get clients and people still sign up under me, but these people know nothing about Internet business like mine. So I held my breath and asked the question. What happened? They read it. There is some pretty bad stuff that is not true on there. Did they read that? Yes. So what did they say? She is a very powerful and successful woman. So, you see even in the worst case scenario people are going to do what people are going to do and there is nothing you can do about it and it is not going to mean that something bad is going to happen as a result of it. Of all the nasty things my competition has ever tried to do to me or all the nasty things that lazy people who always blame others for their failure have said to me, it has never once hurt me. So, just do what I do when you see the websites, ignore them when you get the emails, then delete them, and remove the person from your list, and move on. Let me just add one more short story from one of my heroes. When considering taking a consulting job for a company I did a background check on the owners. One of the owners had worse enemies than I did and a guy had set up information to make it look as if she was a pedophile. I contacted an associate of mine about it because it seemed odd and I had already figured out how I could do the same thing and I had similar things happen to me, but not as severe as this. It was totally ruthless and unthinkable in my opinion. I thought I would die if that happened to me. A logical first reaction. When I told my friend he laughed and said “Is this the first time you have seen that?” I said, "Yes, did you see it before?" He said, “Not that one but that is so typical of the kind of things that people do to their competition in online business--she probably really pissed someone off. She probably does something with children that is important to her that is why they chose that.” I said, "Can you take it off?" He said, “Yeah, but why? It is just going to let them know that they got to her and they will just do more. You should know this after all the bad things that have been said about you online.” I agreed and called her. She did not have the experience that I did online and it was actually the only thing I found in doing her online background check so I offered to take it off for her. At least I had a lot of good things to go along with all the bad ones. Her first reaction was she started crying, and as my friend suspected, she did in fact, work with children in her other life, part-time and feared this would destroy her chances of continuing. An hour later she called me back and now she was just mad. I explained that similar things have happened to me. She decided to talk to her partners and get their feedback and in the end decided not to do anything. That was 2 years ago and it is still up there. I still took her as a client and it never caused any ill effects for her, the children she worked with or the company. Now back to my point. Always let your downline know what companies you are promoting even if they are from a company that went belly up where you were the one who sponsored them. That is where most of your downline will come from and people would always rather join under someone they know instead of someone they don’t know. Real business people are smart enough to know that it is all part of the industry and you had nothing to do with it and the rest would never make you any money anyway. They will just waste you very valuable time trying to coddle them. Don’t let anyone else ever make you doubt who you are. And never forget this very important quote: You don’t have to see the whole staircase. Just take the first step. Martin Luther King, Jr. Benjamin Franklin failed 2,000 times before he successfully invented the light bulb and when asked, How did you keep going after all those failures? He said, “ I did not fail I just discovered 2,000 ways how not to invent the light bulb." You can’t focus on being there when you are trying to accomplish anything. If you want to be successful you have to focus on the steps. If you had to climb a staircase without using any of the steps, you could probably do it with a lot of effort and planning, but if your goal is to reach the top and you could use the steps then that is always your best option and success is always guaranteed. But most would never even start trying if they were forced to do it without them. The good news is you are allowed to use them so there is no need to worry about how to do it without them. Don’t worry about whether the steps that you can’t see from where you are, are there or not or whether they will be there when you get to them, they are there now and they will be there when you get there. If we use stairs as an analogy for success, how many people do you think have gotten to where they are by approaching the staircase and then deciding not to use the steps or worrying about whether they will be there when they need them? What one man or woman can't do another can do. All you have to be able to do is believe in yourself. You learn a lot from success, things you can never learn from failure or even partial success. Even with the smallest success priceless information is earned and that education becomes cumulative. But failure also earns you some valuable information. In the case of Ben Franklin he learned 2,000 ways how not to do what he was trying to do, so with every failure it took him one step closer to success. If you want to know how many licks it takes to get to the center of a tootsie pop you better be prepared to do the licking yourself. Don’t trust someone else to tell you the answer. With all my successes I have learned things like most people don’t make nearly what they claim or have nearly the size of downline that they claim. They are not always trying to be dishonest. In most cases they think that if you believe in what you are doing you will be successful and so if they are saying that they make a lot or pay a lot that you will believe and do what it takes to be successful. However noble their cause, I find that honesty is the best route to take on the Internet. It only takes one person like me at the top who can expose the person below them of their false claims or income and downline size. Let’s face it. If I have a downline of 20,000 people and I am above you, then you can hardly have a downline of 30,000 people can you? Myth Busted! The Internet is full of sharks and honesty will set you apart from all the rest, causing people to flock to you in masses as long as they never catch you swimming next to a bloody fish with flesh in your teeth. Blood in the water will cause them to flee and only other sharks will be attracted to you then. Here are some tips to help you be safe on the internet: Never trust anyone you don’t know personally and have not tested and proven their claims. Never trust anyone about how big their downline is or how much they make. Although I don’t lie about that kind of thing, I include myself in that statement as to not allow anyone else into the same door I came through. I am sure any other honest person would suggest the same thing. It is safer just to not trust anyone in that area plus what difference does it make you are not them, so the numbers have no correlation to what you can do and what you can’t. Focus on your successes and not on your failures. What I mean by that is if for example, you sign up 20 people in Advertopia and only one of them does anything. Most people focus on the fact that most of my people don’t do anything. Well guess what most people don’t do anything and playing by those same rules people still get rich even though most of their people don’t do anything. Rather focus on the one sign up that you got that is doing something and earning you either money or advertising, the more of them you get the more money you get. Focus on facts like if I get 20 more people I will probably get one more who will work and then I will have doubled my efforts. Focus on the fact that soon they will have gotten one that is doing something and then another and your efforts will be even more improved. Don’t focus on what you can’t afford to join, but rather on earning the small amount of money it will take to join to take you one step further to the top. If you have less than $50 a month to run your business then just join one company and don’t join another or even worry about joining another until you are successful in that one first. Don’t join anything that you don’t plan to pay for, for at least 6 months and give six months effort to. If you do you are just throwing your money away. Nothing great was ever accomplished with half-hearted effort, but always remember that the faith of a mustard seed can move mountains!
